Letter from the Founder

Dear Reader,

Welcome to Nhyira Publishing House.

The word Nhyira comes from Ghana, the country where much of my childhood was shaped after my family fled a civil war in Liberia. It means “blessing.” I chose that name because it reflects my deepest hope for every book we publish – that each one becomes a blessing to those who read it.

I did not create this publishing house simply because I wanted to write books.

I founded it because I believe books have the power to rebuild lives.

Life rarely unfolds according to our plans. We experience unexpected detours, unanswered questions, personal losses, professional disappointments, and seasons that seem impossible to understand while we are living through them. Yet I have discovered that our hardest chapters are often preparing us for the work we were always meant to do.

My own journey has taken me through civil war, immigration, single motherhood, entrepreneurship, professional success, personal setbacks, health challenges, financial rebuilding, and more than one opportunity to begin again. Each season taught me something I could not have learned any other way.

Those experiences shaped not only the pages I write but also the kind of publishing house I wanted to build.

At Nhyira Publishing House, we believe that books should do more than entertain. They should challenge us to think more deeply, live more intentionally, lead more faithfully, and leave the world better than we found it.
